​THE PLAN

The existing playgrounds of Lake Kiowa are in need of upgrades for both safety and usability. The West Playground at the Lodge sees the most activity and is central to community events. So we have focused our efforts there first. See the project page for more information.



DEMOGRAPHICS

Lake Kiowa is now home to many children and even more visiting children and grandchildren. In fact, 17% of Kiowa permanent residents are minors (not including weekenders and visitors). This falls only slightly below the national average of 22%. During events this number can greatly increase, like the 600 kids that attend the community Easter egg hunt and the many that attend kid fish events! We think it worth while to improve the amenities available to the littlest of Kiowa residents and visitors. Want to be involved? See our get involved page.

 

HOW TO HELP
This project will partly donation funded as the POA budget, for the foreseeable future, cannot be stretched to cover this project in its entirety. While the replacement of the lodge playground is pressing, we want to do it right! The simplest way to help is to fill out a pledge form letting us know how much you would be willing to donate at a future date (when the plan is fully approved by the board) so we can show the board we can make this happen.
