​THE PLAN

The existing playgrounds of Lake Kiowa are in need of upgrades for both safety and usability. As well as replacing the playgrounds at the East and West beach, we would love to achieve the goal of one or two additional small investments with children in mind at auxiliary locations as well. Parent and grandparent volunteers of Kiowa have joined together as the LK Plays Group with this aim in mind. We are working through all the planning and committee approvals to gather all the necessary information we can in order to present to the board a plan to make progress on this primarily through donations. DEMOGRAPHICS

Kiowa is now home to many children and even more visiting children and grandchildren. In fact, 17% of Kiowa permanent residents are minors (not including weekenders and visitors). This falls only slightly below the national average of 22%. During events this number can greatly increase, like the 600 kids that attend the community Easter egg hunt and the many that attend kid fish events! We think it worth while to improve the amenities available to the littlest of Kiowa residents and visitors. Want to be involved? See our get involved page.

 

HOW TO HELP
This project will be primarily donation funded as the POA budget, for the foreseeable future, cannot be stretched to cover this project in its entirety. The simplest way to help is to fill out a pledge form letting us know how much you would be willing to donate at a future date (when the plan is fully approved by the board) so we can show the board we can make this happen.
